corporate profile bulletins and voice-overs, marketing surveys.


Professional experience:
Free-lance software translator from March, 1995 until present.  A wide range of materials 
(DTP, Web page designer, virtual shopping centre and e-commerce application, firewall, router, 
telecommunications software, printed circuit boards, fax, scanner) has been translated for 
Rubric, ITR Ltd, ALPNET UK Ltd (in the UK), a number of direct clients both in the US and in 
the UK, and various companies based in Dublin.  Work on the products generally includes translation 
of UI files, documentation and HTML help files.  My turnover is in the region of one million words 
per year.
Linguistic co-ordinator of translator teams in medium-sized projects (in the region of 300K words) 
from March, 1998 until present.  Tasks include preparation and update of glossaries, management and 
final QA of product-specific Trados' TMs, cross proofreading, as well as distribution and supervision 
of assignments to each translator.
Vast experience of software testing, manual proofreading and QA, both in-house and at my office site.


Skills:
Full acquaintance with both Windows XP and Macintosh environments, including the day-to-day use of 
Microsoft Office 2002, Trados Translator’s Workbench 5.5 and FrameMaker 5.5.
