Depending on the nature of the translation job, the following steps will be undertaken:
assessment of existing terminology and localization issues
translation of GUI (resource) files
translation of Help/documentation files
translation of any supplementary files
work on software products generally includes translation of GUI files, documentation and HTML help files. Further tasks may include software testing, proofreading and QA of documentation and help files.
examination of glossaries containing core terms, or their preparation, if they are still not available
management of translation memories or other terminological databases, which can be used in future upgrades of the product.
Delivery methods:
Once finished, work is generally sent by email. However, arrangements can be made to deliver the translated material by FTP, hard copy or other physical media, if required.
